Bio
Guitarist Samuel Chevalier is recipient of numerous accolades and scholarships. In 2015, he was the first prize winner for his performance in the Instrumental Competition put on by the Music Scholarship Council and the Grossmont Community Concert Association. He was also a two year recipient of the Friends of East County Arts scholarship.
Samuel attended the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, and is a graduate of the Grossmont College Music Program where he studied under renowned master guitarist and professor Fred Benedetti.
Samuel first picked up his dad’s guitar at the age of 13. Thirteen years later with over 8,000 hours of attention to detail and hard work practicing, he continues his education at San Diego State University, pursuing his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance. Samuel is also engaged as the guitar instructor for the Jammin at the Library program at the San Diego Public Library, a free community class targeted towards teens and emerging adults who receive guitar instruction. He looks forward to passing on all he has learned to the next generation of artists with a career as a college level music educator and professional performer.
